Go to fullsize imageHave you ever wandering the cleanliness of water drinking that you take every day? Most of us bring water from home by  a big bottle.Bottled water is a healthy water-or so marketers would have us believe. Just look at the labels or the bottled water ads: deep, pristine pools of spring water; majestic alpine peaks; healthy, active people gulping down icy bottled water between biking in the park and a trip to the yoga studio.

Thanks to its slow decay rate, the vast majority of all plastics ever produced still exist — somewhere.Go to fullsize image     Go to fullsize image

In reality, bottled water is just water. That fact isn't stopping people from buying a lot of it. Estimates variously place worldwide bottled water sales at between $50 and $100 billion each year, with the market expanding at the startling annual rate of 7 percent.
Bottled water is big business. But in terms of sustainability, bottled water is a dry well. It's costly, wasteful and distracts from the brass ring of public health: the construction and maintenance of safe municipal water systems.
 Go to fullsize image
Want some solid reasons to kick the bottled water habit? We've rounded up five to get you started.
1) Bottled water isn't a good value
Take, for instance, Pepsi's Aquafina or Coca-Cola's Dasani bottled water. Both are sold in 20 ounce sizes and can be purchased from vending machines alongside soft drinks — and at the same price. Assuming you can find a $1 machine, that works out to 5 cents an ounce. These two brands are essentially filtered tap water, bottled close to their distribution point. Most municipal water costs less than 1 cent per gallon.
Now consider another widely sold liquid: gasoline. It has to be pumped out of the ground in the form of crude oil, shipped to a refinery (often halfway across the world), and shipped again to your local filling station.
In the U.S., the average price per gallon is hovering around $3. There are 128 ounces in a gallon, which puts the current price of gasoline at a fraction over 2 cents an ounce.
And that's why there's no shortage of companies that want to get into the business. In terms of price versus production cost, bottled water puts Big Oil to shame.
Go to fullsize image
2) No healthier than tap water
In theory, bottled water in the United States falls under the regulatory authority of the Food and Drug Administration. In practice, about 70 percent of bottled water never crosses state lines for sale, making it exempt from FDA oversight.
On the other hand, water systems in the developed world are well-regulated. In the U.S., for instance, municipal water falls under the purview of the Environmental Protection Agency, and is regularly inspected for bacteria and toxic chemicals. Want to know how your community scores? Check out the Environmental Working Group's National Tap Water Database.
While public safety groups correctly point out that many municipal water systems are aging and there remain hundreds of chemical contaminants for which no standards have been established, there's very little empirical evidence that suggests bottled water is any cleaner or better for you than its tap equivalent.
3) Bottled water means garbage
Bottled water produces up to 1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year. According toFood and Water Watch, that plastic requires up to 47 million gallons of oil per year to produce. And while the plastic used to bottle beverages is of high quality and in demand by recyclers, over 80 percent of plastic bottles are simply thrown away.
That assumes empty bottles actually make it to a garbage can. Plastic waste is now at such a volume that vast eddies of current-bound plastic trash now spin endlessly in the world's major oceans. This represents a great risk to marine life, killing birdsand fish which mistake our garbage for food.
4) Bottled water means less attention to public systems
Many people drink bottled water because they don't like the taste of their local tap water, or because they question its safety.
This is like running around with a slow leak in your tire, topping it off every few days rather than taking it to be patched. Only the very affluent can afford to switch their water consumption to bottled sources. Once distanced from public systems, these consumers have little incentive to support bond issues and other methods of upgrading municipal water treatment.
There's plenty of need. In California, for example, the American Society of Civil Engineers estimated the requirement of $17.5 billion in improvements to the state's drinking water infrastructure as recently as 2005. In the same year, the state lost 222 million gallons of drinkable water to leaky pipes.Go to fullsize image
5) The corporatization of water
In the documentary film Thirst, authors Alan Snitow and Deborah Kaufman demonstrated the rapid worldwide privatization of municipal water supplies, and the effect these purchases are having on local economies.
Water is being called the "Blue Gold" of the 21st century. Thanks to increasing urbanization and population, shifting climates and industrial pollution, fresh water is becoming humanity's most precious resource.
Multinational corporations are stepping in to purchase groundwater and distribution rights wherever they can, and the bottled water industry is an important component in their drive to commoditize what many feel is a basic human right: the access to safe and affordable water.
What can you do?
There's a simple alternative to bottled water: buy a stainless steel thermos, and use it. Don't like the way your local tap water tastes? Inexpensive carbon filters will turn most tap water sparkling fresh at a fraction of bottled water's cost.
Consider taking Food and Water Watch's No Bottled Water Pledge. Conserve water wherever possible, and stay on top of local water issues. Want to know more? Start with the Sierra Club's fact sheet on bottled water.
Thefore it is advising to use bottle water such as made fromm tupperware and eplas. It has high quality and promises us the cleanliness of water without any toxic.Go to fullsize image

~The FuTuRe iS FlAt~

The panels are flat but th sales most certainly aren't. The television market ,long dominated by the conventional TV, is undergoing a revolution. The 'tube' or the 'box' as it is often known, sits heavily in the corner of most living rooms across the planet. Beautiful it isn't . But that's about to change if sales forecast are realised. Already millions of families are opting for thin screen wall mountable plasmas and LCD TV's as the latest consumer product of choice.
Go to fullsize image
Statistics show that Americans watch TV on average for four hours a day , whilst Europeans watch three hours, so it's not  surprising that consumers are saying that as they spend so much time watching TV, that they might as well look at something that looks good! But it's not just viewing statistics that are impressive ,the economic statistics are also looking good , with the market for thin screen TVs worth $21 billion in 2004. Plasmas are taking the biggest slice of this market ,especially for screens of 40 inches or more where they have an 88% slice of the market. LCDs are also selling fast but relative to plasmas the growth rate is slower.

The end looks to be in sight for the conventional CRT TV, although for now cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions still account for 72% of US sales . This is perhaps not surprising if you think that they have been around for over fifty years. With bargain prices starting from $100 and having an external long life expectancy, CRTs are not going to disappear overnight . The downside of course is that they are big and bulky and are unlikely to win any design awards . The technology though , is tried and tested-all colours televisions create images using red, green, and blue light , but conventional televisions use an electron gun to generate these images. The cathode element within the gun emits beams of of electrons which are fired at phosphor-coated screen which is covered with blue, green and red phosphorus . The larger the screen ,the longer the tube needed and the bigger the box.
Go to fullsize image                                     television
At present demand for plasma TVs is overtaking that of LCDs ,as prices are 10% to 20% cheaper for similar-sized screens, although this price differential is narrowing . Plasmas also beat LCDs in terms of maximum screen size, offering consumers an almost cinema like experience with with screen sizes ranging up to a massive 55 inches (137.5cm) with models such as Hitachi's PD5200.Plasmas also don't suffer from the problem of trailing edge blur with fast-moving images ,which is the problem with even the best LCDs on the market. Having said that, they have had some problems with image that, they have had some problems with image burn -in that leaves static images on the screen ,like permanent ghost images. This is not so much of an issues as you might think as this is only likely to occur when the same image, such as a sign,is continuously displayed on screen . Since TV images are constantly in motion , burn-in isn't likely to be a problem so long as the screen isn't hooked up to your computer and used as a PC monitor.

LCDs on the other hand, win hands down in terms of weight, slimness and flexibelity-they can be as little as Toshiba 20VL56compared to 8-15cm plasma ,they are more durable and weigh considerably less than their plasma equivalent ,and can also be easily wall-mounted .Over the life of the product ,a strong case can be made for the cost efficiency of LCDs as they have life expectancy of 25 years.

The big picture then for consumers and retailers alike is that plasma and LCD TVs are today's high-tech tube and as new players enter the market so quality and value for money will rise further . Plasmas look the better buy for the present, but LCDs are likely to seize market share in the future when screen sizes get bigger and prizes come down. This trend will be further accelerated with the expected entry into the market of the big PC manufacturers, offering even lower prices together with technological even.

Go to fullsize imageScientists have long stated that the main effect of global warming is the melting of the polar ice caps, resulting in a rise in sea levels. However ,as we observe the theory become a reality ,it is becoming apparent that this phenomenon also has multifarious secondary effects.

Fresh water from melting  ice caps flows into the sea reducing the concentration of salt in the water and thus the sea's density. Saline -dense water would normally sink to the sea bed and then travel to warmer equatorial regions. Concurrently, the warmer less densely saline water in warmer parts of the world would travel along the sea surface to the poles, where its salinity would increase and the water would consequently sink. However as the salinity of polar water decreases ,this ocean process slows down. This cycle is vital, however as it has an oxygenating effect on the water and also carries nutrient  from deeper water to the surface. Therefore any slowing down of the cycle may have dramatic consequences of sea life .
Go to fullsize image

A second alarming discovery is that the sea itself has traditionally played a role in reducing global warming. Oceans hold within them a certain amount of carbon dioxide . As the temperature of the sea  rises ,so its capacity to hold carbon dioxide ,falls , thus the problem of global warming is further exacerbated . However ,there is a piece of good news to counter this, melting ice caps and lower saline levels enable the sea to hold more carbon dioxide ,so the problem could be offset to some extent.

Have you ever heard homeschooling before this?Homeschooling is also known as home education that have been practice by most of american people. It is now become a public education for the students in america. Homeschooling in America, which emerged as early as the 1600s, has recently become an increasingly popular alternative to public education. During the 2002-2003 school year, a whopping 1.7-2.1 million students were homeschooled in the US! The roots of homeschooling in America go back centuries: home education in this country began with the 17th-century Pilgrims and Puritans, both of whom believed that educating children was the responsibility of the parent, whether personally or through a tutor or governess. Education at the time was largely led by the predominant Christian faith: by schooling at home, parents could monitor their children's learning, and tailor it to their belief systems. In the mid-1800s, however, public education came into play, and though homeschooling has existed since, throughout the19th and earlier 20th centuries it was definitely not the most prevalent of education options. Recently, however, homeschooling has become increasingly popular: it is estimated that, currently, the number of homeschooler and the number of charter-school students are equal.
However this education practices have counter some argument due its pros and cons ..

Below are some examples of the advantages of homeschooling..

1. Low Teacher-to-Student Ratio - With anywhere from 15 to 35 students in a class, teachers in a traditional classroom have limited time to give students one-on-one attention. When students are homeschooled, they have a greater chance of getting the individualized attention they need. Teachers can focus on one student at a time.
2. Instant Feedback - When students participate in a homeschooling program, they can get immediate feedback regarding their assignments, quizzes and exams. Likewise, they can let their teachers know if they do not understand a concept or need extra help. There is two-way communication.
3. Customized Curriculum - Homeschooling allows students to get an education that is tailored to their needs. For those students requiring extra help or needing additional challenges, they can participate in a homeschool curriculum that focuses on specific areas. A customized curriculum also enables them to set their own pace. They can navigate a lesson as slow or quick as they choose.
4. Less Distractions Homeschooling programs enable students to solely focus on the task at hand. They can pay 100% attention to their studies, without any worries, social distractions or pressures of a regular school setting. When students learn at home, they can also schedule their classes to suit their schedule.
5. Time ManagementAt home, students can sit down and get right to work. There is no wait time before they can read a lesson or start an exercise. They are no longer bound by a school schedule as a teacher performs role call, attends to another student or handles a discipline problem.
6. More Flexibility - Learning in a home environment enables students to have greater flexibility than in a traditional classroom. They can set their own schedule. If they want to study or take their tests at night, they have the freedom to do so. Families can take a vacation in the middle of the week, or use their kitchen for a chemistry lesson. The possibilities are endless!
Homeschooling provides people with an option to traditional educational methods. Whether students are homeschooled by their parents or take homeschooling online, they can be in charge of their education and make decisions about what is best for them. They have the freedom to create an education that is customized to their needs. It provides them with choices.

Whereas for the disadvantages of homeschooling are..

  1. Not Enough Time. Because home schooling your kids is really a full time job, you just may not have enough time in the day to do what you need to get done. You have to full research topics and prepare lessons, set up projects and field trips. You will have to spend time keeping yourself organized, and on top of all that, you have to teach.
  2. No Time for Work. Because home schooling takes up a lot of time in preparation and delivery, you may run out of time for house hold duties and chores.
  3. Personal Space. When home schooling your kids, you will have to give a lot of yourself away. You will pretty much loose your personal, quiet time. So, if you opt to home school your kids, make sure to schedule in time each day for yourself.
  4. A Lot of Pressure. Because everyone has their own unique style to home schooling, you may end up finding yourself comparing your techniques with those of other parents. This can put a lot of pressure on you .
  5. They Just Don't Listen. Parents who do not have regular control over their kids, may feel overwhelmed with the decision to home school. In these situations, you will just run yourself ragged running after the kids, preparing lessons, cleaning the house, and maybe even running that home business. Make sure that you have control over your children's behaviors before you decide to home school.

Do you know what is human trafficking? Human Trafficking is a crime against humanity. It involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harbouring or receiving a person through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting them. Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the world is affected by trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims.
The purpose of human trafficking is to exploit the prostitution of others, sexual exploitation, forced labor, slavery or similar practices and the removal of organs.

Go to fullsize image
Men, women and children are all being trafficked. However, the most vulnerable groups, those with limited rights or protections, have been the hardest hit. Disproportionately, trafficking affects poor women, children and members of disadvantaged minority groups.
It's impossible to deny the suffering of the victims of trafficking. What may be harder to understand are the forces that create and sustain this global problem. These forces — and the array of initiatives necessary to combat them — are far more complex. Trafficking does not exist in isolation. It is connected to economic, political and social forces that increase the vulnerability and desperation of the poor, refugees and migrants, and women and children. Trafficking is one of the most horrific end results of economic and social disparities that increase the vulnerability of millions of people. Such vast inequality allows many within our societies to be considered little more than disposable commodities.
From my own view human trafficking is something illegal case that cannot be denied anymore. They try to exploit a weak person who doesn't know anything. As such it occurs to my citizen who go to abroad and just want to bring a luggage for his boyfriend without knowing anything what's inside the bag.All of sudden she has been caught by the immigration officer in Japan and be accused involving in drugs smuggling. Until now her case still under progress, and only court can judge for it. Our lawyer from Malaysia also try to fight for her cases. Human trafficking can be happened in many ways, and we have to fight for it and stop human trafficking. In order to stop human trafficking each country especially government have to take stern action for this problem.

In traditional surgical procedures, surgeons need to make large incisions in a patient's body in order to work on the affected internal organ. However robotic surgery has changed all that . Today robotic equipment is used for certain types of surgeries. It may be hard to believe but it is true.
Go to fullsize image At one time , it was common to see heart surgeons involved in highly complex and special procedures. To reach the heart ,they have to make long incisions in the patient's chest area. Subsequently, they have to split the breastbone in order to get to the heart. These traditional procedures cause great trauma for the patients. They need to recover from the surgical treatments, the split bone and the wound created by the incision. Furthermore these invasive procedure leaves the patients prone to infection. As a result of the long cut in the skin , the patient is exposed to infection by bacteria . Besides the recovery period is often lengthy.
In recent years, a new surgical technique known as the keyhole surgery has come into prominence. This technique requires into a couple of small incisions, each measuring about one centimetre to be made around the area to be operated on. Long instruments  are inserted through these tiny incisions into the patient's body. At the end of these instruments are attached small tools that are similar to standard surgical equipment. Then an endoscope or a tiny camera is inserted through one of the incisions. This camera sends an image of what is going on inside the patient's body onto a large computer monitor. This enables the doctors to see what is happening and where to place or apply the surgical tools. The problem with the keyhole surgery is that it is counter intuitive . When a surgeon wants to move or shift the surgical tool to the right, the surgeon has to push it to the left and vice-versa.
A new robotic apparatus, the da Vinci Surgical System has been tested in hospitals in the United States . It requires the surgeons to make three small incisions in the body. Two of the slits are for the insertion of surgical tools. The third incision is for the endoscope . The robot's moving parts are built to mimic the natural hand and wrists movements of a surgeon. This provides stability ,better control and sensitivity. The surgeon can perform the operation sitting at a console a few feet away from the patient.. The surgeon does this by holding and moving sensitive pads that enable the surgeon to manipulate the instruments. The area of the body being operated on is magnified on a screen attached to the console. The surgeon gets a realistic three-dimensional view of the area , as seen in traditional  operation. The smaller incisions means less physical trauma to the body, and the patients will recover in a shorter time. In certain cases , the patient's duration of stay in the hospital had been reduced in half.
The only drawback is that some operations have taken fifty minutes longer due to the lack of experience of surgeons at using the new technology. When the surgeons become familiar with the machines and techniques ,the time required for surgical procedure will likely be reduced.

Do you think your armpit is smelly???of course you will apply deodorant onto your armpit..for sure;ppp..for what??to prevent odourless lah..hehe..Have you ever read its label, containing what type of chemical. Have you ever wonder deodorant can give seat back to your health....Actually deodorant and anti perspirant is different type of cosmetic,,both are functioning applying under the armpit..but in terms of chemical use ,,both contain different ingredients. As such anti perspirant contains aluminium which can block the sweat glands and generally results in reduction, but not total elimination of sweating.Whereas most deodorants contain parabens which can neutralize the smell of the sweat against the bacteria. The bad thing is anti perspirant can trigger alzhemeir illnesses as the sweat pore is block and deodorant is seem to play an important part into triggering breast cancer. Even though there is no logic evidence yet due to some arguments but some research has shown that both chemical can trigger the diseases to human. It may occur for the long term effects. Therefore, it is suggested for most people to change or use natural body crystal deodorant. It does contain free chemical substance and guarantee for our health. In fact it can last longer for the whole day than anti perspirant and other deodorants. So as a consumer you have to choose the right stuff especially related to your health cosmetic=)

i really like this story made from a grandpa..

to all Bestari Teachers to be, here's something from Grandpa:

Teach My Grandson Teacher - Gently, If You Can
My grandson starts school today. It's going to be strange and new to him for a while, and I wish you would sort of treat him gently.
You see, up to now, he's been king of the roost -- he's been boss of the backyard. His mom, dad, and Grandma have always been around to repair his wounds, and soothe his feelings.
But now things are going to be different! This morning he's going to walk down the front steps, wave his hand, and start out on a great adventure... it's an adventure that might take him across the continent... it's an adventure that might incllude wars and strategy and sorrow.
To live his live in this world, will require faith and love and courage. So teacher, I pray you will take him by his young hand and teach him the things he will have to know.
Teach my grandson teacher -- but gently, if you can. He will have to learn, I know, that all men are not just, that all men are not true.
But teach him also, that for every scounderel, there is a hero.. that for every crooked politician, there is a dedicated leader. Teach him that for every enemy, there is a friend.
It will take time teacher, I know, but teach my grandson, if you can, that a nickel earned is far more value than a dollar found... teach him to learn to lose... and to enjoy winning.
Steer him away from envy, if you can, and teach him the secret of quiet laughter.
Let my grandson learn early that the bullies are the easiest people to lick.. teach him, if you can, the wonder of books... but also give him quiet time to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun, and flowers on a green hill.
In school, teacher, teach him it is far more honorable to fail than to cheat... teach him to have faith in his own ideas, even if everyone tells him that he is wrong... teach him to be gentle with gentle people and tough with tough people.
Try to give my grandson strength not to follow the crowd when everyone else is getting on the bandwagon... teach him to listen to all men... but, teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through.
Teach my grandson teacher.. but gently if you can, how to laugh when he is sad... teach him there is no shame in tears... teach him there can be glory in failure and despair in success.
Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob... and to stand and fight if he thinks he is right.
Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness.. teach him to sell his brawn and brains to the highest bidders but, never, never, put a price tag on his heart and soul.
Treat my grandson gently, teacher, but don't coddle him, because only the test of fire makes fine steel.. let him have the courage to be impatient... let him have the patience to be brave.
Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself. Because then he will have sublime faith in God and Mankind.
This is a tall order, teacher, but please help him if you can do. You see, he's such a nice little fellow... my grandson.
Teach my grandson, teacher.. but gently if you can.

I've learned this subject last sem,, and i got A for this subject,,not really hard and tough, but quite okay..i really like this subject because i've to practice in my  life especially during entering lab,,every sem i've to do lab,,cannot escape anymore, so we must set in our mind lab safety is our first priority when entering lab chemistry,,if not you will be like this,,hehe..
Now, i want to make a list what should we do and shouldn't when entering the lab

  1. Safety goggles must be worn at all times while in the lab.
  2.  Contact lenses are not allowed. Even when worn under safety goggles various fumes may accumulate under the lens and cause serious injuries or blindness.
  3. Closed toe shoes and long pants must be worn in the lab. Sandals and shoes are not allowed
  4. Long hair must be tied back when using open flames.
  5. Lab coats should be worn at all times
  6. Eating, drinking and smoking are strictly prohibited in the lab
  7. No unauthorized experiments are to be performed, if you are curious about trying a procedure not covered in the experimental procedure, consult with your lab instructor.
  8. Never taste anything . Never directly smell the source of any vapour or gas instead by means of your cupped hand ,waft a small sample to your nose . Do not inhale these vapours but take in only enough to detect an odour if one exists.
  9. Bags should not be left on the lab benches and stools.
  10. Always wash your hands before leave the lab(hand sanitizer plissssss ;p)
  11. Know where the safety and first aid equipment is located. This isncludes fire extinguisher, eye with stations, shower and others.
  12. Notify the instructor immediately in case of accident.
actually there's a lot i want to make list of lab safety,,like how to hold test tube,,wear hand glove,,be well mannered during lab,,know the differences concentration of chemical,,how to read NFPA,,a lot of thingy ..hehe..as my lecturer said when we want to enter lab,,put aside all make up stuff,,foundation or eyeliner or whatsover,,heels ke,unless we are bisnes student or accountant,,then you can wear  a glam attire,, earrings,,necklace,,aiyaa..=p,,if u you are lab student," beautifu"l is not necessary,,haha,,the most important is our lab report is perfect,,walaweyh,,

To recapitulate,,follow the rules when entering the lab..remember it can become a hazardous place when we do not abide by the rules that have been prepared.;)
